1. Who’s responsible for your data?

MémoPatte is an Android app published by Gaëlle Briet, a sole proprietor (entrepreneure individuelle) based in France. She’s the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You’ll find her full details in the legal notice (in French).

For any question about your data: memopatte@gaelle-briet.fr.

2. In short

3. What data, what for, on what legal basis

Use Data Why Legal basis
The app, without an account What you enter: your pet’s profile (name, species, breed, date of birth, weight on arrival, photo), their vaccines, treatments and weigh-ins Running the app and your reminders on your phone We don’t process this data: it only leaves your phone if you export it, or through the Android backup described below
Android backup The app’s database, without photos Letting Android restore your health record on a new phone An Android feature, tied to your Google account. We can’t read this backup. You can turn it off in Android settings
MémoPatte Plus account Email address, password (we never store it in plain text), technical account ID Creating and securing your account, which your Plus purchase is tied to Performance of a contract
Plus backup and sync Your pets and their health record (vaccines and injections, treatments and doses, weigh-ins), your photos Backing up your health record, restoring it, using it on several devices Performance of a contract
Plus offers and purchase As soon as the MémoPatte Plus screen opens, even if you don’t buy anything: a random ID that RevenueCat creates and technical details (device model, Android version, language). Once you’re signed in: your technical account ID. When you buy: the Google Play purchase token, the offer you chose, the status and end date of your access. Never your email address Showing the offers, turning on and checking your Plus access Performance of a contract, or steps you ask us to take before one
Usage statistics Screens you view and a few actions (for example “vaccine added”, with the pet’s species, or the Plus offer you bought); a random ID created on your phone, and your technical account ID if you’re signed in to Plus; technical details such as device type, Android version, screen size and language. Never the content of your health records, your pets’ names or your email address Understanding how people use the app, to improve it Your consent: the app sends nothing until you’ve accepted
Account technical logs IP address, sign-in sessions Securing the service and spotting abuse Legitimate interest
Contacting us Your email address and your messages Answering your data requests, your refund requests and your questions Data requests: legal obligation. Refunds: performance of a contract. Other questions: legitimate interest

The app works without you giving us anything. You only need an email address and a password to create an account, which MémoPatte Plus and its cloud backup need: without them, you keep the full app, for free. We need the purchase data to sell you Plus. Usage statistics are optional: declining them doesn’t change how the app works.

The health information you enter in MémoPatte is about your pets: we don’t process any human health data.

4. Who receives your data

These providers process your data on our behalf, following our instructions:

Provider Role Location Safeguards
Supabase, Inc. Hosting the account, the health record backup, photos and technical logs European Union, Paris (AWS eu-west-3) Data processing agreement (DPA), including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses
PostHog, Inc. Usage statistics, if you accept them. PostHog doesn’t keep your IP address PostHog Cloud EU, European Union Data processing agreement (DPA), including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses

Google Play sells and bills MémoPatte Plus. Google acts as the merchant and is responsible for its own processing, under its own terms and privacy policy. We never receive your payment details.

We host your Plus data and your usage statistics in the European Union. Supabase and PostHog are US companies: their contracts include the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses for any access from outside the EU. RevenueCat processes purchase data in the United States, under the same clauses. Proton is based in Switzerland, a country recognized as providing adequate protection. Our providers may use their own subprocessors, which they list on their websites.

As with any internet connection, our providers receive your IP address to route your requests. PostHog doesn’t keep it. Supabase keeps it in its technical logs, for as long as Supabase sets. We don’t pass any data to advertisers.

5. How long we keep it

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

7. Refunds

8. Security

We encrypt everything exchanged with our servers. Our host encrypts Plus data at rest and keeps it separate: each account can only read and change its own data. We never store passwords in plain text. If a data breach puts you at high risk, we’ll tell you, as Article 34 of the GDPR requires.

9. Minors

MémoPatte is meant for people aged 18 and over. If you think a minor has created an account, email us and we’ll delete it.

10. Android permissions

No location, no contacts, no text messages, no microphone.

11. Changes

This policy may change: the last updated date is at the top of the page. If there’s an important change, we’ll let you know. You’ll find every version in the site’s public history.
